Solar Fairy Lights

At night Upwey township takes on a certain magic atmosphere with two of the Main Street trees twinkling brightly with solar fairy lights.

Upwey Community Group’s Solar Fairy Lights project, which was in the planning stages pre-Covid was picked up again by a small team of UCG volunteers in 2024. They found a fantastic partner in Leadsun Australia, specialists in commercial solar lighting, who took on management of the project, liaising with Council and UCG and supplying the appropriate solar engines and lights for Upwey. Leadsun Australia worked with D & L Lighting Systems who installed the lights and solar engines over 5 days. 

UCG is very grateful to the Community Bank Upwey and District, for the financial support which enabled this vision of a brighter night Upwey to become a reality.

With the long lasting commercial grade solar engines and lights, our trees should keep twinkling and giving pleasure to residents and visitors for years to come.
