Have your say on the Upwey Town Centre Masterplan

01/09/2023

Yarra Ranges Council is looking for community input on opportunities and challenges in Upwey, which in combination with UCG’s own community consultation, will inform their town masterplan.

The upcoming master plan will encompass the regions of Upwey that are shown here along Main Street, Burwood Highway, Morris Road, and the community areas between Main Street and View Street, which include the skatepark, playground, carpark, our community halls, and green spaces.

The objective of the master plan is to transform the centre of Upwey into a vibrant and dynamic hub, boosting the overall accessibility of our township and creating an inviting and lively area for both residents and visitors to the community alike.

A masterplan for the town centre may involve enhancements such as landscaping, public spaces and footpaths, street furniture, signage for town facilities, open spaces, council and community facilities. However, it does not cover commercial buildings, shopfronts, train station improvements, or organizing events.

Council will be taking feedback for a first draft of the masterplan between August 29th and September 26th, 2023.

To submit your thoughts, visit https://shaping.yarraranges.vic.gov.au/upwey-town-centre-masterplan, select the 'Add Marker' button and click/tap the specific location on the interactive map where you want to identify an issue or an opportunity for improvement.

If you'd like to discuss the masterplan in person, the project team will be at the Community Link, 40 Main Street, Upwey, at the following times:

The project team will also have a stall at the Seed of Life Market, 34 Main Street, Upwey.
